Fall doesn’t officially begin for another week, but it sure felt like it this morning. It was 40°F when I got up! I’m always sad to see summer go but I really do love the crisp dry air and the colorful leaves during the autumn months. When the apples are ready to be picked, I go into baking mode and usually don’t stop baking delicious seasonal desserts until January. This cookbook is filled with the kind of apple and pumpkin recipes that I crave this time of year and I am thrilled to be giving away a copy to one of my readers!

I never made a meatloaf in a skillet before and was surprised at how fast it cooked! Dave and I loved it! He even had seconds and made a sandwich with the leftovers the next day! :)

My favorite dish I look forward to in the fall would have to be my chicken corn chowdrer.. I just love when it starts to get a ilttle cool and there is nothing better then a hot bowl of soup or chowder.. the other fall favorites of mine are fresh apple and pumpkin pie!! YUMMY!

I make a corn and potato chowder that also has chives, bacon and cheese that’s delicious! Once the weather gets cooler I’ll make a big pot of it and it’ll be gone in no time at all.

I used to can apples every year with my sister, apple pie filling, maple apple butter. I now live 5 states away and its just me and my family. This year I want to show my 3 girls how to make pie(apple and pumpkin,and my grandmas mince meat) along with breads and soups we will freeze. Along with the good time and memories, it should definitely help when my 4th daughter arrives Nov 7th.
Thanksgiving dinner, seems to make fall official. YUM!

I don’t really have a favorite dish anymore. I probably eat stew the most - it’s warming, filling and easy to prepare. I do like my apple caramel cobbler. Yum!
In the fall, I look forward to the raw apple cake dessert . The smell of raw apple cake baking in the oven and its aroma throughout the kitchen gets me in the mood for the upcoming holidays starting with Halloween.

I love to put a pot of apple cider on low on the stove, add cinnamon sticks, cloves, ginger and orange slices and let is simmer away on a rainy, chilly Saturday. It makes the house smell wonderful, and everyone can just ladle themselves out a cupful whenever they want.

I’m not a big pumpkin pie person but I have a recipe for a pumpkin torte that is to die for. It has a mild and creamy pumpkin flavor that reminds me of Fall. I can’t wait to make it.

I really love cookbooks and trying new dishes.
fall means…baked apples that remind me of being 9 and baking with my great grandfather.
I can’t get enough pumkin bread,pie,pancakes,muffins,…love it all…even pumpkin coffee!
fall gives me the permission to bake stuffing and top it with that almost Thanksgiving love.
fall is when a grilled sandwich and soup taste “in-season”
I love fall…that is when the crock pot can go all week building flavor in anything you fill it with.
fall is great for filling the thermos with hot cocoa and sitting with a blanket at your kids soccer game.
fall is the season I feel like I get back to cooking in layers of taste and comfort.
fall give us the time to ease into cooking without feeling the stress of holidays…great time to try a new pie.

My favorite Fall dish is an amazing and easy Apple Pan Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream and Caramel Sauce. The Apple Cake itself is made using Pillsbury Quick Nut Bread Mix and Apple Pie filling and it always comes out moist and delicious. I serve it warm with the ice cream on top and then a giant squeeze of caramel topping over the whole thing! It’s like a big bowl of heaven and I make it all through the Fall and Winter. Heaven.
