On the weekends we love having Sunday brunch. It’s so nice when we all sit down together and enjoy each other’s company while eating a delicious meal. My daughter and I are the ones that do most of the cooking, so we try to make stuff that won’t keep us in the kitchen for hours. However, we don’t want to sacrifice taste, and we like it to be wholesome as well.
The other day when I was at Target I saw some products that peaked my interest; Van’s Banana Nut Soft Baked Granola and Van’s Cocoa Sensation Cereal. Both of these products are gluten free, dairy free, egg free, corn free, cholesterol free, and they have no trans fats per serving, no artificial flavors, and they are made with whole grain. This is a win-win for me being that my kids have allergies, and sometimes it’s hard finding products that fit their needs #liveconsciouseatdelicious. I also found Wallaby Organic Strawberry Greek Yogurt and Wallaby Organic Vanilla Bean Greek Yogurt. These yogurts are strained, they are rich in protein, and made with premium organic ingredients. They are the perfect blend of creamy goodness that is not only nutritious, but delicious! I went ahead and bought all four, and I was happy to see that Target had a cartwheel offer for Van’s as well as one for Wallaby.
My daughter and I got to thinking about what we could make, and knew the family loved Banana Splits, so we made a wholesome version of it! We took a tall glass and filled the bottom with a few tablespoons of Van’s Simple Delicious Banana Nut Granola, placed on some sliced bananas, that I dipped in pineapple juice so they wouldn’t turn brown, and then spooned in some Wallaby Organic Vanilla Bean Greek Yogurt.
After that we did three more layers; a handful of Van’s Simple Delicious Cocoa Sensation Cereal, some diced strawberries, and then some Wallaby Organic Strawberry Greek Yogurt. It looked delicious and we couldn’t wait to try it, but banana splits need pineapple!
To finish it off, we added a little bit more of the Banana Nut granola, some diced pineapple, another layer of creamy Vanilla Bean Greek yogurt to make it look like whipped cream, and then I crushed up some Cocoa Sensation Cereal and sprinkled it on top! We were so happy at how pretty they turned out, and we were ready to dig in.
They were delicious, and you can see it’s easy to eat wholesome foods that naturally fit your lifestyle. This Banana Split Parfait is lower in sugar, and it’s packed with protein and whole grains. Whether for breakfast or snacking, the possibilities of eating wholesome foods is endless with @VansFoods and @WallabyYogurt.
